We are pleased to share promising results from the Phase I clinical trial of Peacefully’s end-of-life planning tool, developed in partnership with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. This research marks a crucial milestone in our effort to create accessible, effective, and user-friendly planning resources.

The Phase I trial, recently published in Supportive Care in Cancer, demonstrated that patients and caregivers found Peacefully to meet both usability and acceptability cutoffs. This digital tool allows users to make end-of-life plans that are clear, personalized, and reflective of their unique values, easing the burden on both patients and their loved ones.

During this research, feedback from participants was also used to further refine the tool.

“It can provide emotional support through things like recommending meditations and linking people to healthcare providers,” Dr. Megan Shen, the lead researcher at Fred Hutchinson Cancer center said. “Peacefully is really meant to bring peace of mind.”

With Phase II trials ongoing, we are excited to further understand the impact of pool. The next phase will focus on a randomized control trial, assessing outcomes like anxiety, depression, financial security, and advance directive completion rate.

We look forward to continued collaboration with Fred Hutch as we work toward making end-of-life planning more accessible, compassionate, and effective.
