Close down or transfer the name on utilities in Gordon County, Georgia

To transfer service to a different name or to turn off the service, call the Calhoun Utility at (706) 602-5678 on Monday-Friday between 8-5 pm

They can start the process, but they will ask you to come to their office:

700 West Line Street

Calhoun, Georgia 30701.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

When you go to the office, you will need to bring:

2 forms of ID:
Photo ID
Social Security card or any legal document containing the name and Social Security number, such as a Tax Form, W-2 Form etc.
If you want to transfer it to your name, you will need:
For rental property, a rental contract or lease agreement signed and dated by the landlord in the name of the person who be in charge of payment
For owned property, a title in your name
If you don’t yet have these documents, you can call the utility company anyways, and they may be able to help you temporarily.
